MODENAS Helps Out Unsung Heroes Of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital

Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd, the national motorcycle brand more commonly known as MODENAS, has initiated its #MODENASPrihatin relief campaign to afford some comfort to medical front-liners fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the northern region.

As many NGOs and other parties focus on providing aid and assistance to hospitals in and around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, this subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Bhd, which has its operations in Gurun, Kedah, decided to focus its initiatives in its home ground.

As the number of positive cases rises, the front-liners at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah are required to remain emotionally and mentally preserved, as they are continuously committed in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 despite the shortage of nurses and doctors that was already plaguing the hospital long before the outbreak.

MODENASPrihatin_Modenas_Corporate Social ResponsibilityAs such, to provide some relief to these unsung heroes, MODENAS as a company, together with its employees, did a quick donation drive to raise funds to purchase basic essential items for the hospital. Some of these essentials include industrial fans, electric kettles and bottled water. These may not be luxurious in any sense of the word but it would go some way in providing hospital staff some relief and comfort as they continue to sacrifice to care for the sick.

“A very small gesture to the doctors, nurses, health workers, volunteers, medical professionals and not forgetting the security guards, which without them, the livelihood of our country as we know it would grind almost to a halt. With them, some sense in preserving normalcy in our country during these difficult times is made possible,” Roslan Roskan, Chief Executive Officer of MODENAS commented.
