This is according to the 2019 overall sales figures announced by the Malaysia Automotive Association (MAA), which puts Isuzu Malaysia on a positive footing to start the new year.

According to the official numbers, Isuzu Malaysia sold 4,759 units of ELF trucks. This is despite the challenging market conditions, thus further cementing its dominant segment lead since 2009. Contributing to sales is the ‘Smoother’ AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) variants which was launched in mid-2019.

The new 6-speed AMT variants offer the convenience of an automatic transmission with the reliability and low running cost similar to that of manual transmissions. Driven optimally, the AMT ELF trucks can also provide greater fuel savings.

In his New Year’s address, Chief Executive Officer of Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Koji Nakamura, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s achievements in 2019. He also took the opportunity to express his sincere gratitude to business partners, commercial customers, dealers and staff for maintaining Isuzu ELF’s position as the No. 1 preferred Light Duty truck for the 10th consecutive year.

Performance of Aftersales had exceeded expectations in 2019 as it recorded higher vehicle intake numbers and spare parts sales revenue.

For 2020, Isuzu Malaysia endeavours to provide the best reliable products and ensure utmost customer satisfaction. The company is geared towards providing improved aftersales services with shorter lead times and increasing vehicle intakes for service.

Additionally, Isuzu Malaysia aims to maintain their position as the leading commercial vehicle company in the country. This year, the company is setting its sight on achieving sales of more than 5,000 units. This will be through the introduction of a wider range of attractive models and features to suit local business needs.

Aside from this, Isuzu Malaysia has stated that its range of vehicles, including the commercial vehicles with Euro 2 and Euro 3 compliant engines, are ready for the use of B20 biodiesel.
