Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Introduces GLE 450 AMG Line; 5- And 7-Seater Variants, Starting From RM633,888
Simultaneously with the launch of the GLC 300 Coupé, at the Hungry For Adventure Festival, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also introduced the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Line. The GLE 450 will come in a choice of 5-seater or 7-seater, with estimated pricing of RM633,888 and RM638,888 respectively.
Both 5- and 7-seater variants are powered by a new 3.0L turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with 367 hp @ 5,500 – 6,100 rpm and 500 Nm @ 1,600 – 4,500 rpm. Paired with the 9-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, this engine has a mild hybrid feature courtesy of an integrated starter/alternator that provides and a quick boost of 21 hp / 250 Nm (EQ Boost). The hybrid system also allows for energy recuperation. Like the GLC 300 Coupé, power is transferred to all four wheels by the 4Matic system and giving the GLE 450 a 0 – 100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds.
The GLE features a fully networked hydro-pneumatic system, the world’s first active air suspension (AIRMATIC with ADS enhanced damping system) combined with the 48V electric hybrid system. Named E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL, the suspension system controls each individual wheel thus offering better handling performance. Beyond that, it is also built with a Dynamic Select transmission, Active Stop-and-Go Assist, and the latest telematics with internet access.
The exterior of the GLE 450 is fitted with the AMG Line and Night Package kits as standard, so you get the diamond radiator grille with chrome pins, fender cladding, AMG front and rear bumpers, 22″ AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, and MULTIBEAM LED graphics. Other highlight features include panoramic sliding sunroof.
In the cabin, there is brushed aluminium trim for a luxurious feel. The Acoustic Comfort Package which includes windscreen and windows laminated with noise-damping film to improve soundproofing and reduce noise intrusion.
The all-new GLE comes with the all-new MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) interface. The one found here is an improvement from that in the A-Class, and features two large 12.3″ screens arranged side-by-side for a widescreen look. This revolutionary system includes Linguatronic which understands spoken commands by the driver, to control the infotainment and vehicle functions.
