Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd Moves to New 3S Centre in Ipoh to Improve Sales and Aftersales for Hino Trucks and Buses
Ipoh, 20 December 2018 – Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (DMSB), one of Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd’s (HMSM) authorized dealers, has made its move to a new 3S Centre in Ipoh official. The new dealership is located at No. 127, Batu 2 1/2, Jalan Kuala Kangsar 30100 Ipoh, Perak, which is not too far away from its old location. The dealership now comprises of Sales, Aftersales Service and Spare Parts, so it is a full-fledged 3S centre and is more convenient compared to the old one which had sales and aftersales in two different locations.
The new office is not only been designed to increase the efficiency of all departments but also to reflect DMSB’s goal to focus on delivering quality customer service. DMSB has been a dealer for the sale and aftersales services of Hino trucks and buses since 2010 and has eight outlets and six authorised service centres nationwide.
Executive Director of DMSB, Mr. Makoto Ogawa, said in his opening speech, “This new showroom is to further help not just on improving the sales numbers but also to enhance our overall customer experience. As some of you may have known, we have come a long way in establishing our partnership with Hino Malaysia.”
“One of the main considerations of this new outlet is to unify Sales and Aftersales service under one roof to form a comprehensive 3S centre. This further solidifies DMSB commitment to strengthen better customer service with not just by offering reliable product, but with quality service as well,” he added.
The new 3S dealership has a built-up area of 84,942 sq ft and the service centre is equipped with 11 bays and three hoists.
According to Mr. Ogawa, the practice of the ‘Culture of Continuous Improvement’, or better known as ‘KAIZEN’ to some, within the new work environment has seen an increase in efficiency. “I am proud to share that our monthly service intakes have doubled up in numbers and there’s been increased in revenue following the implementation of KAIZEN practices here in Ipoh since August 2018,” he said.
Mr. Ken Iwamoto, the Managing Director of HMSM, shared that innovation in business strategy is not only about physical infrastructure but also the fortitude of the organization and the support given to valued customers.

Besides providing valuable aftersales, Hino also takes road and vehicle safety awareness seriously. The company built the first training centre in Southeast Asia, complete with a training circuit, to provide training for truck drivers. The Hino Total Support Customer Centre in Sendayan, Negri Sembilan, strives to deliver the best support to Hino’s valued customers with optimal training programs including driver safety training, eco-driving and driver familiarization training.
