Honda Malaysia Previews HR-V RS Variant At KLIMS ’18
Honda Malaysia is previewing the Honda HR-V RS variant at KLIMS ’18 (Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018). The RS variant of the popular compact SUV has been open for bookings since July 2018 and Honda Malaysia has received over 4,100 bookings.
The new HR-V RS gets a cosmetic update with sportier exterior design cues like the ‘Solid Wing Face’ concept with new LED Headlights, LED Daytime Running Lights, LED Fog Lights and Rear Combi LED Guide Lights. The HR-V RS variant wheels are 18″ dual-tone alloys. It also gets new front and rear bumpers as well as new detailing such as a dark chrome outer door handles, black chrome license garnish, sport black side sill and mesh fog garnish.
The interior looks unchanged except for the new leather seat design with Ivory-coloured finishing that is also represented on the dashboard and armrests. Other updates to the interior include 8-way powered driver’s seat, paddle shifters, and sports pedals. The HR-V still comes with the versatile Multi-Utility Cargo Space for cargo-carrying convenience.
Powering the HR-V RS is the 1.8L SOHC i-VTEC engine with Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) for a balance of performance and fuel efficiency. A new feature is the Variable Gear Ratio (VGR) steering system for sportier driving.
The RS variant is fitted with Honda LaneWatch, which is a camera system mounted on the passenger side mirror. The view of the adjacent lanes next to the vehicle, including blind spots, will be displayed on a display system in the car. This allows a better viewpoint and provides safer driving conditions for the driver.
Standard safety features include six airbags, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and multi-angle rear-view camera.
