Free One Month Personal Accident Benefits For Petronas Mesra Card Members Effective 1 May 2018
PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) will be offering all PETRONAS Mesra card members the Mesra Personal Accident (PA) benefit totally free for one month effective 1 May 2018. This initiative is part of PDB’s effort to reward its customers with practical rewards and is an industry-first from a fuel retailer. This PA Plan is PDB’s collaboration with Shieldcard Holdings Sdn Bhd and Zurich General Insurance Malaysia Bhd.
All PETRONAS Mesra card members will be receiving an SMS or email from PETRONAS informing of this free PA benefit. Mesra card members who wish to continue to enjoy this PA benefit for the subsequent months will only have to spend a minimum of RM100 each month at PETRONAS to enjoy the subscription for the PA benefit at only RM1 (equivalent to 100 Mesra Points which will be deducted from your Mesra card account).
The PA offers worldwide 24/7 protection, in both conventional and Takaful options, and provides the member Accidental Hospital Income of RM50 per day, for a maximum of 30 days per insured event. In the event of an unfortunate death or permanent disablement of the Mesra card member in an accident, the family or next-of-kin of the member, will be entitled to a cash payment of up to RM25,000 (which is increased to RM50,000 if the insured event occurs on a public holiday gazetted by the Government).
“Due to overwhelming response from our customers since launching the initiative in February this year, we have decided to open up the one-month complimentary to all our existing and new Mesra card
members,” commented PDB’s Head of Retail Business Division Aadrin Azly.
“When we asked around, we realise that there are many who are not insured, under-insured or assumed they are insured. Safe to say, many still overlooked the necessity of insurance and through this offer, we hope that our customers will take this opportunity to get themselves covered as it is only at a mere RM1 per month,” he added.
By registering for the Mesra PA Plan, Mesra card members are automatically enrolled for the AXXESS programme, where AXXESSpoints can be earned at participating merchants nationwide.
“Mesra card members are able to use the earned AXXESSpoints to reduce or pay in full, members’ annual motor insurance premiums, in addition to obtaining FREE private healthcare benefits,” said Tunku Naquiyuddin Ibni Tuanku Ja’afar, Executive Chairman of Shieldcard. The programme is structured to leverage on individuals everyday spending habits, to provide healthcare and other protection benefits, he added.
