Scania Promotes Safety And Sustainability At Petronas Fleet Management Drive 2018
The Fleet Management Drive (FM Drive) is an annual competition organized by PETRONAS in its bid to to increase the standards of safety among its operators. In support of this initiative, Scania participated as an exhibitor in the most recent FM Drive to further promote safe driving in its fleet operations among road tanker drivers and hauliers.
The FM Drive initiative is PETRONAS’ commitment to safety in its day-to-day operations which sees its road tanker drivers cover thousands of kilometres daily to deliver its fuel products.
The tanker driver skills competition gauges driver performance through a series of challenges that test the drivers’ ability to perform manoeuvers within a specified time. At the same time, these challenges help promote a culture of safety as well as provide the opportunity to network.
This year’s competition was held on the grounds of Shaziman Transport Sdn Bhd, which operates a predominantly Scania fleet. It is the sole logistics provider in Malaysia to use the Scania B-Double Tankers which deliver better fuel economy of up to 6% with its aerodynamic design for optimum fuel economy and faster delivery.
Shaziman currently has three Scania R 500 V8 B-Doubles and a Scania Streamline G 460 B-Double in its fleet which includes 175 Scania trucks.
At the competition, Scania displayed its G-Series truck together with its vision for the future of transportation like semi-autonomous platooning display and its range of Scania services such as Fleet Management System, Scania Driver Training and Scania Driver Coaching.
