100 Proton Employees Obtain Skills Certification
A simple but meaningful graduation ceremony was held earlier this month for 100 Proton employees to celebrate their achievement in obtaining the Level 3 Malaysian Skills Certificate. On hand to present them their certificates was Minister of Human Resources, YB Dato’ Sri Richard Riot Anak Jaem.
Also present were YBhg Dato’ Dr Mohd Ghazali Abas, Secretary General of Ministry of Human Resources, and Encik Nidzam Kamarulzaman, Director General of Department of Skills Development, Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of Proton and YBhg Dato’ Radzaif Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton.
“We are not just about building cars but talents as well. We provide an opportunity for employees and we encourage them to enhance their skills and knowledge as part of their career and self-progression. After all, learning is a continuous process in life and the certificate they received today is a motivation to achieve something greater and instil the belief that they can do better with the right mindset,” said Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of Proton.
The Malaysian Skills Certificate is a nationally recognized skills training certificate issued by the government of Malaysia; there are a total of 5 levels of certification, under the Department of Skills Development which are recognized qualifications to specific and selected jobs.
“Proton has a long history of collaboration with the Department of Skills Development (JPK) and Ministry of Human Resources. We see our involvement as part of Proton’s corporate responsibility towards nation building. We could not have carried through this programme without their help and this benefit not just the employee, but the employer and industry on the whole,” Dr Li added.
