Haval M4 Elite Launched in Malaysia; Priced At RM75k
You might not have heard of Haval, the top-selling SUV brand in China for 11 consecutive years, but you might have seen that unfamiliar-looking compact SUV on the road – that’s the 1.5L Great Wall M4; there are about 1,600 units on the road since going on sale mid-2014. In line with Great Wall Motors global realignment, GWM Malaysia will now be known as Haval Malaysia.
GO Auto is the exclusive distributor and manufacturer for Great Wall Motors and Haval vehicles for ASEAN. Haval vehicles are assembled in a state-of-the-art CKD (completely knocked down) facility in Gurun, Kedah.
The Haval M4 Elite maintains the 4-cylinder 1.5L VVT MPI engine with output of 105hp, 4 disc brakes, ABS, EBD, 2 airbags, DVD player with integrated navigation but adds on a new honeycomb grille, surround-view camera, poly-ellipse projector headlamps, arm rest, daytime running lights and digital video recorder. This puts the Elite trim at RM 74,950.
If you can do without those extras, a Premium trim can be had for RM 67,950 on-the-road in AMT or RM 61,771.31 in Manual. There’s also the Comfort trim for the more budget conscious.
Buyers of the M4 Elite will also get a 7-year unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty, which should give owners some peace of mind. During the 3-day launch promotion, buyers will also enjoy insurance rebate or service voucher up to 25,000 km.
There are currently 21 dealers nationwide and plans are afoot to increase that to 42 by 2017.
At the launch, CEO of GO Auto, Mr Ahmad Azam Dato’ Sulaiman, also announced that Haval is the official car for the Futsal Kindness Cup 2016 which involves children from orphanages across Malaysia. A mock key was presented to Noriduan Abdul Rahman, President of Kindness Malaysia for 2 units of Haval M4.
