Standard safety features include Crosswind Assist and Attention Assist, whilst Active Parking Assist, 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, Traffic Sign Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind SPot Assist, LED intelligent lights, and Adaptive Highbeam Assist are all available as optional selections.

Drive mode selection is also available, offering four pre-set modes in which engine, accelerator, and transmission responses are adapted accordingly. In addition, the V-Class also comes fitted with the latest-generation adaptive electronic stability control as well as adjustable dampers, all of which are features unheard of among vans.

Whatever the configuration, all passengers are strapped in with three-point seat belts.

Other interior highlights include the free-standing central display and multifunction steering wheel with 12 buttons to control the V-Class’ advanced infotainment system.  Customers selecting equipment starting from the Audio 20 CD or Comand Online options additionally get touchpad control similar to what’s deployed in the latest C-Class and S-Class.
