Mercedes-Benz C 250 (W205) now with AMG Line option
The recently-launched fully-imported Mercedes-Benz W205 C-Class range is now bolstered by a third trim variant, with the sporty AMG Line trim level now offered to the range-topping C 250 model.
To recap, the latest W205 C-Class, which was launched only last month in Malaysia, is available in C 200 and C 250 guises, both powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo engine but differentiated by outputs – 184hp for the C 200 vs 211hp for the C 250.
Launch specifications pitches the C 200 in sportier Avantgarde trim contrasting the more stately Exclusive trim offered in the C 250. On-the-road without insurance, these two South African-built variants are priced at RM285,888 and RM314,888 respectively.
The new AMG Line, which for the moment is offered only with the C 250 at a RM25,000 premium over the C 250 Exclusive, exudes a more aggressive appearance than the regular model thanks to its AMG body styling elements which include a front apron with splitter and matt iridium silver trim, side sill panels, and rear apron with diffuser fins. Up front, illumination is upgraded with intelligent LED headlights with adaptive highbeam assist.
Completing the AMG Line’s sporty stance is a set of 18-inch five-spoke AMG alloy wheels (up from 17-inch in the regular models) complemented by a sports suspension set up which lowers the vehicle’s ride height by 15mm. The sports suspension is combined with a more direct steering ratio to achieve maximum sportiness.
Inside, the C 250 AMG Line comes with a panoramic sunroof and an enhanced infotainment system that includes COMAND Online, a control and display system with DVD player, radio and 10 GB memory for compressed audio files (mp3, wma, aac, wav) and video files (mpeg, avi up to 720p.) With COMAND Online, information is shown on a 21.3cm (8.4 inch) high-resolution colour display controlled by a touchpad on the centre console. Audio is projected by a 13-speaker 590W Burmester surround sound system.
The new C 250 AMG (CBU) is available for order at RM 339,888.00 (OTR without insurance).
