Mitsubishi announces recall of Triton Lite Turbo

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has announced that a recall initiated by by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) in Japan to replace and retighten the crankshaft pulley bolt on the Triton Lite Turbo pick-up will affect some 2,200 units of the model sold here in Malaysia between April 2012 and December 2013.

The company confirms that no accidents relating to this fault has occurred in Malaysia, but it will bear all related expenses at workshop to rectify the defect. Notification letters has been issued to all affected customers, who are advised to make an appointment with any of MMM’s authorized service centres to undergo the one-hour procedure.

“We apologise to our customers and regret the inconvenience caused by this predicament. It is our priority to put our customer’s safety first without compromising the quality of the product we offer,” said Mr. Tetsuya Oda, Chief Executive Officer of MMM.
