Special women-only Perodua Myvi FEM Edition
With the exception of Ferrari, car companies are typically not selective of who gets to purchase their cars. You don’t get turned away from purchasing a specific vehicle because you don’t fit within a certain demographic. It is usually a simple question of whether you are willing to meet the stipulated transaction price, and from there it is a case of willing buyer willing seller.
Perodua has recently launched a new limited edition of the Myvi, but you can’t buy it if you’re not a woman. Yes, you read correctly, this is a car that will only be sold to female buyers. Launched in conjunction with Perodua’s Female Empowerment Movement (FEM), the Myvi 1.5 FEM Edition is limited to only 60 units and can only be bought by FEM members.
Mechanically identical to regular variants of the Myvi 1.5, the FEM Edition model is finished in Ivory White solid lined with decorative stickers. The interior is leather trimmed with seats wrapped with covers sporting the FEM logo. The car also has leather-wrapped steering, multimedia system with navigation and reverse camera, solar and security window film, carpet mat with FEM logo, and a multipurpose container.
“All in all, he have included about RM4,000 worth of special features to capture the hearts and minds of the Malaysian woman. All this without increasing the price of the car,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh.
Membership in FEM is open to women at least 18 years of age who own or regularly drive a Perodua vehicle. Registration is open at www.peroduafem.com.my, and benefits include mystery birthday gifts, fun empowerment workshops, and invitation to Perodua events. In addition FEM members are given access to a dedicated microsite for interesting articles; they are also entitled for special discounts for FEM e-store purchase as well as privilege membership fee for the Perodua circle club.
