Mitsubishi Attrage open for bookings
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has today opened the order books for its all-new Attrage B-segment sedan with an official launch slated in November. Produced at Mitsubishi’s factory in Laem Chabang, Thailand, the Attrage is based on the same mechanical underpinnings of the Mirage hatchback and is powered by the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder MIVEC engine that also incidentally qualifies it as an eco car in our northern neighbours.
“With combined fuel consumption of 21 km/l, the new Mitsubishi Attrage is Malaysia’s most fuel efficient sedan thanks to the aerodynamics of the vehicle (CO= 0.29) without compromising driving pleasure. It is a stylish and spacious sedan that is a practical and value for money choice in the B-segment,” said Tetsuya Oda, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
New information made available to us by MMM highlight increased outputs from the engine over the Mirage, with 79hp and 106Nm on tap for the Attrage, as opposed to the Mirage’s 77hp and 100Nm. Transmission offerings are identical to the Mirage, a choice between a 5-speed manual and Mitsubishi’s INVECS-III CVT.
A total of four variants will be available, with prices starting at an introductory RM59,000 on-the-road without insurance for the GL variant with manual transmission. The CVT, meanwhile, is offered with the option of three trim levels, namely the GL, GS, and SE. All variants come with identical safety features namely dual airbags and ABS with EBD.
Standard creature comforts for all variants include front fog lamps, alloy rims, and rear seat centre arm rest. Opting for the GS spec adds keyless entry, engine start button, auto climate control, and leather wrapping for the steering wheel and gear knob. The range-topping SE further adds a sporty body kit, LED daytime running lights, security window film, leather seats and a 2-DIN touch screen audio unit with USB, AUX-in and reverse camera.
The Attrage will be available for its first exclusive viewing at Paradigm Mall Ground Floor Promotional Area from 6-8 September 2013 (Friday-Sunday), 10am-10pm. The first 1,000 bookings will receive a portable Garmin GPS as a free gift. MMM has announced a 3-year / 100,000km warranty for the Attrage.
