Kuala Lumpur, April 11, 2013 – Land Rover (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has launched the all-new 2013 Range Rover, the fourth generation of the world’s first sports utility vehicle (SUV) with a lightweight all-aluminium monocoque body.

The new model has been developed from the ground up, yet maintains the forty year heritage of the Range Rover. It is amazing, but the Range Rover is looking better with each new model. There is only that much one can do with a two-box shape, but the Range Rover design engineers really deserve a pat on the back for this one. It looks sleeker, and the with an all aluminium body, you can rest assured that another forty years down the road, this Range rover will probably still be on the road.

The new Range Rover takes the capabilities of the marque’s flagship to a new level, with even greater luxury and refinement, enhanced performance and handling on all terrains, and significant advances in sustainability.

Land Rover Malaysia is offering the new Range Rover with a choice of two powertrains — a 510 PS 5.0-litre LR-V8 Supercharged petrol and a 4.4-litre SDV8 turbocharged diesel with 339 PS– paired with a smooth and responsive 8-speed automatic transmission. They are priced at RM1,089,888 and RM949,888 respectively (on the road, excluding insurance.)

Speaking at the launch, Land Rover Malaysia managing director Syed Mudzhar Syed Ali said that Carcosa Seri Negara, was chosen as the venue to present the latest Range Rover flagship model as they shared the same distinctive British architecture, rich heritage and historical significance.

“Both are the epitome of luxury and appreciated by those who want only the best in life. Thanks to the support of our principal at Jaguar Land Rover, we are delighted to be able to offer this latest version of the best luxury SUV in the world to a discerning group of customers here in Malaysia.”
