Chevrolet signs endorsement deal with Malaysia national diving team
Having recently signed with English football clubs Manchester United and Liverpool, Chevrolet, through its local distributor Naza Quest Sdn Bhd, has just added the Malaysian national diving team and the National Sports Council to its portfolio of sports sponsorships.
A ceremony was held earlier today at the National Aquatics Centre in Bukit Jalil, where Datuk Maruan Mohd Said, Chief Operating Officer of Naza Quest handed over two units of the Chevrolet Captiva to representatives of the NSC and the national diving team.
The national dive team has been receiving strong media attention this year, particularly after Pandelela Rinong’s surprise bronze medal in the Olympics. In addition to the two Captivas presented today, Naza Quest had earlier presented Pandelela’s family in Sarawak with a Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck.
“Chevrolet and the Naza Group of Companies have been active in supporting local sporting events such as the Jelajah 1Malaysia cycling race, International Sepak Takraw Federation (ISTAF) World Cup 2011, and the Chelsea Asia Tour 2011. The company has also been working together with the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia to introduce a new area of tourism in the country – sports tourism,” said Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, Naza Group of Companies Joint Group Executive Chairman.
