Tribos protection now standard for all new Mazdas
Since the CX-5’s launch earlier this year, all Mazda vehicles sold in Malaysia comes standard with an application of Tribos, a paint protection solution originating from the UK.
The product’s early success in Malaysia has prompted Tribos and Mazda Malaysia to explore new markets in the region, and Tribos was recently invited to speak at a Southeast Asian Customer Service Conference presenting its product to representatives of the Indonesian, Thai, and Philippine markets.
Every paint protection solution in the market has its own USP and recipe that makes it work, and in Tribos’ case, it is an active polymer shield initially designed for marine applications protecting yachts from the damaging effects of salt, UV, and other contaminants. The product is also used in the aviation sector to enhance paint gloss and improve airflow, the latter application suggesting just how smoothened the surface can be.
Tribos’ paint protection is claimed to increase gloss levels and its unique application is said to give a greater depth of colour whilst the protective nature of its coating prevents fade and degradation. The company even provides a guarantee that older paint surfaces are returned to a better finish, although results will most certainly vary based on actual conditions of the paint.
In addition to paint protection, the Tribos package also encompasses Glass Protection, which forms a water-rejecting hydrophobic barrier on the windscreens; Alloy Protection, which protects rim surfaces from brake dust; and Fabric Protection, that reduces staining and protects against spills.
