Perodua CSR activities for Ramadhan and Merdeka month
In conjunction with the upcoming Merdeka Raya festive period, Perodua has lined a series of CSR activities to mark the dual occasion. Yesterday, the company donated 13 units of the Myvi to a number of non-government organisations, institutions of higher learning and government agencies while hosting them at a buka puasa dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Receiving a Myvi each were Muslim Aid Malaysia, Perbadanan Wakaf Selangor, Pusat Jagaan Rumah Insan Ipoh, Yayasan Nurul Yaqeen, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Industri Pendidikan Negeri Selangor (Inpens), Kolej WIT, Institut Kemahiran Mara (IKM), Balai Polis Serendah, Cawangan Khas Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Hulu Selangor, and the Ministry of Higher Education. At the function, Perodua also donated RM3,000 to Maahad Tahfiz Nurul Iman, Serendah, whilst handing out duit raya of RM100 cash each to 22 students from the home.
Also part of the lengthy line-up of activities was the Kembara Ramadhan Perodua where 50 Perodua staff visited the Masjid Al-Falah, Ulu Yam Baru, and distributed the traditional Ramadhan dish, bubur lambuk to 500 people. Food was donated to 138 needy families, and some 52 orphans had their pockets filled with duit raya of RM100 each.
For the Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, the company has sent out a convoy of 2 Myvi and 1 Alza vehicles on the Kembara Merdeka Perodua 2012 to tour the Peninsula. The convoy will make a number of scheduled stops and at each stop, members of the Malaysian public are invited to write their Merdeka wishes and hopes on the Alza’s body, which will then be put on display.
“The tour will take the crew to 11 locations within 5 days and along the way collecting the people’s aspirations of the nation as we move towards becoming a developed nation,” Aminar said.
Aminar said that Perodua hopes that the Alza unit used to collect these wishes will be showcased during the Merdeka Day Celebration at Dataran Merdeka. The Alza unit will then be displayed during on-the-ground promotional activities and finally be displayed at Perodua headquarters in Sungai Choh.
