Final Grand Prize winner of ‘Shell Pays Your Utility Bills’ Contest takes home RM100,000 cash

Nineteen Malaysians from around the country battled it out for the Final Grand Prize of RM100,000 cash and a 5-year supply of Shell Helix Ultra, at the Grand Finale event of “Shell Pays Your Utility Bills” contest. Ahmad Faiz Abdul Muvin (34 years old) from Nilai, Negeri Sembilan was crowned the Final Grand Prize Winner when he defeated 18 other finalists at the Blue Concourse of Sunway Pyramid shopping mall.

“When my name was announced, no words could describe the feeling I was going through. Initially, when I won RM20,000 in Week 1, I was already very thankful for the pleasant surprise. I knew I was going to be a part of the Grand Finale but never really expected to walk away with this windfall of RM100,000 cash and be free from paying utility bills for a good few years. In addition, I’ve also made 18 new friends along the way, in this challenge. Thanks to Shell for such a wonderful and unforgettable experience!” said Ahmad Faiz Abdul Muvin, a civil servant.

Shoppers of Sunway Pyramid were treated to the live-action of the fun and exciting Grand Finale, as the finalists went head-to-head to vie for the RM100,000 prize money. Invited guests and members of the media were present to give cheer and support as they all waited in anticipation to see who would be the Final Grand Prize winner of this year’s first contest, “Shell Pays Your Utility Bills”.

“Shell will continue to provide quality fuels and reward our customers with promotions that will make a difference in their lives. In this campaign alone, we received close to 15 million contest forms and rewarded more than 5,000 Malaysians,” said Tuan Haji Azman Ismail, Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. and Shell Timur Sdn. Bhd.

Lending his support to the contestants at the Grand Finale, Fahrin Ahmad, Shell FuelSave Ambassador took the opportunity to get up close and personal with his fans at a meet-and-greet session after the Grand Finale.

The 10-week “Shell Pays Your Utility Bills” contest was launched nationwide in February by Shell, to complement Shell’s maingrade fuel – Shell FuelSave 95. To participate, motorists needed to pump a minimum of RM30 of any Shell fuels, purchase lubricants or any Shell Select items, then fill up a contest form and drop the contest form with the purchase receipt attached.

“Shell has rewarded its customers through cash contests since 2007 and to-date has reached out to more than 65,000 winners from all over Malaysia,” added Tuan Haji Azman Ismail.
