ETCM launches all-new Nissan Elgrand and Nissan Murano facelift
Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has just enhanced its portfolio of premium products for the Nissan marque, launching the Elgrand 7-seater MPV and a facelifted Murano over the weekend. Both models come fully imported from Japan, and are aimed at higher-end niche markets. Consequently, they are both a little bit more expensive than your neighbour’s Teana.
Both models are powered by Nissan’s award winning VQ35 3.5-litre V6 engine in different states of tune, but both mated to the company’s X-Tronic CVT. The front-wheel driven Elgrand gets a more powerful iteration of the engine making 276hp @ 6,400rpm and 344Nm @ 4,400rpm. Meanwhile, the all-wheel driven Murano makes do with 256hp @ 6,000rpm and 336Nm @ 4,400rpm.
A direct rival to Toyota’s popular Alphard and Vellfire MPVs, the Elgrand comes with amenities such as auto sliding rear doors, quad-zone climate control, rear seat entertainment, and all-round parking cameras. Completing the first-class riding experience are four captain’s chairs for the front and middle-row passengers. These individual seats incorporate ‘seat cushion-integrated leg rest,’ ‘articulated seatback,’ and ‘three-layered cushion pads’.
Meanwhile, in the new Murano, customers can look forward to refreshed rims, front grille, bumpers and lamp clusters. Inside, enhancements come in the form of double-stitched leather seats and ‘Fine Vision Meter’ instruments. A rearranged centre stack, incorporates improved rotary controls, a new central display, and USB port.
The Murano and Elgrand are priced at RM330,626.95 and RM398,342.95 respectively inclusive of insurance for private individual buyers in Peninsula Malaysia. Both models are backed by ETCM’s 3-year / 100,000km warranty.
