Global Ford Ranger Challenge open for Malaysian entries

Ford Malaysia is officially inviting Malaysians from all walks of life to come up with new ways to put its soon-to-arrive all-new Ranger pick-up to the test in the Global Ford Ranger Challenge taking place from 1 February to 15 March 2012.

“We’re confident in the All-New Ford Ranger’s tough truck credentials and want consumers to experience its capabilities first-hand by pushing the truck to its limit,” said David Westerman, Regional Manager, Asia Pacific, Ford Export & Growth Operations.

The Global Ford Ranger Challenge was successfully launched in Australia last year and has recently proven to be a huge hit in Thailand and South Africa. The Challenge has tested competitors across Europe and South America as well.

During the challenge period, entrants can submit an application to the official Malaysian Global Ford Ranger Challenge website – www.fordrangerchallenge.com.my or www.ford.net.my – explaining why their unique challenge is the best way to test the Ranger’s capabilities.

Five finalists will be selected by a panel of judges based on quality and creativity, and these five finalists will carry out their proposed challenges in a unit of the new Ford Ranger filmed by a professional film crew, both supplied by Ford. Footage of each challenge will then be uploaded to the Global Ford Ranger Challenge website for the general public to view and vote on their favourite.

Online voting will commence from 1 to 31 May 2012, and the most voted participant will be announced at the new Ranger’s launch in Malaysia. This lucky winner will then drive away a unit of the new Ford Ranger 2.2 XLT (M/T) as a prize. Online voters for this challenge will also be entered into a lucky draw for a range of prizes.
