Miri-based Toyota dealer opens new 2S centre
Toyota owners in Miri can look forward to improved levels of sales and after-sales with the opening of a new 2S (sales and service) facility at the Eastwood Industrial Estate of Kuala Baram Land District by Rimbunan Auto Hijau Services Sdn Bhd, an official UMW Toyota Motor dealer operating in the city since 1987.
The new branch is part of UMW Toyota Motor’s much publicized three-year RM1 billion investment due to conclude in 2013. This expansion compliments UMW Toyota’s efforts to upgrade the sales and after-sales facilities of its branches and dealers. Rimbunan Hijau themselves spent RM6 million in this exercise which saw them grow from a sales showroom at a shoplot along Jalan Permaisuri to this new facility.
The 1,322 square meter facility provides general service, air-cond servicing, wheel alignment and balancing, tyre sales, and Toyota Body shine services. The service facility with 12 service bays can serviced up to 47 vehicles per day. The workshop is manned by 17 people with various trade skills from the workforce.
Speaking at the showroom’s launch last week, Mr. Tiong Chiong Yong, Director of Rimbunan Auto Services Sdn Bhd. said, “We have been enjoying steady growth in our new vehicle sales, achieving a record of 765 units in 2010.”
He added that, “With this increasing trend in vehicle sales, there was also a corresponding increased demand for after-sales to provide excellent after sales services to our customers in Miri.”
