Ex-motoring journo appointed PR head for VGM

Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM) today announced the appointment of former motoring journalist T Yogendra as its PR Manager effective 18 July 2011. The appointment of Yogendra, or known more fondly as Yogi in the fraternity, follows the appointment of Ricky Tay as Managing Director in June.

Yogi’s time in journalism saw him start off at the New Straits Times in 1997, ending with a stint as Malay Mail’s motoring editor. After leaving MM, Yogi ‘switched to the other side of the fence’ by joining the Naza Group of Companies working as Group Corporate Communications Manager, handling the Group’s portfolio of luxury brands, motorcycles, and Chevrolet.

Of his appointment, Director of Marketing Petra Schreiber said, “Volkswagen Group Malaysia warmly welcomes Yogi to the team. We are delighted to have someone of his experience on board to oversee PR matters. He brings to this new position a vast store of knowledge from his years in journalism and communications.”
