New Ford dealership opens in Kayu Ara, Damansara
A new Ford dealership is in town, and it was officially launched early this week as Capital Intertrade Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of public-listed Permaju Industries Berhad, has now joined a network of 37 dealerships for the Blue Oval brand nationwide.
The dealership’s setup is fronted by a 2,782 sq ft showroom situated at 10 Boulevard, along the Sprint Highway near Bandar Utama. Its after sales facilities are 10 minutes away from the showroom at Sungai Penchala. Able to service 15 cars daily, the 4,899 sq ft centre comes equipped with 4 dedicated service bays, 3 hoists, and 1 alignment machine.
The opening of Capital Intertrade’s dealership comes on the back of a strong surge in Ford sales. For the first half of 2011, Ford sales jumped 232% from the corresponding period in 2010 record 3,500 sales. Driving that surge is the Ford Fiesta, which has found homes in more than 2,500 Malaysian households since its launch last year. There is now a limited 200-unit edition dubbed the Ford Fiesta Sport Sapphire XTR available for sale.
Meanwhile, the Ranger pick-up truck, recently bolstered by the addition of Single Cab and 4×2 variants, has registered a commendable 40% year-on-year growth, which is impressive when you consider that the current version of the Ranger is nearing the end of its model cycle. Also launched recently are the facelifted Mondeo and all-new S-Max MPV powered by Ford’s latest 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine with turbocharging and direct injection.
