Perodua has commenced delivery of the new Myvi today, with the first five customers picking up their new rides from the Perodua Body & Paint Service Centre in Subang Jaya in a simple handover ceremony. The 5 buyers all hailing from the Klang Valley are Siva Rajan A/L Subramaniam, Mullai A/P Arunasalam, Tan Soo Hong, Yusainianir bin Mohd Yassin and Kok Zhien Wei.

Like its hugely successful predecessor, the new Myvi is being very well received by the Malaysian public. On 16 June 2011, the date of its launch, Perodua had already pocketed orders from 10,000 customers, a figure which has grown to 12,000 as of today, according to Perodua Managing Director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh. Order books of the new Myvi were opened on 4 June.

Based on pre-launch orders, the automatic transmission models have received overwhelming demand, accounting for 90% of orders. In terms of trim level, the Standard, Premium, and Elegance model are currently split on a 30:50:20 ratio.

When the first Myvi was launched in 2005, overwhelming customer demand for the car caught Perodua in sixes and sevens, with a waiting period stretching as long as nine months depending on variant, colour, and dealer. Lessons have certainly been learnt, and Perodua is ensuring that customers who booked before launch will receive their cars by end July 2011 latest.

Exports of the Myvi will also commence soon, with Indonesea set to be its first destination. There, the Myvi will be badged as the Daihatsu Sirion, and the first shipment of 500 vehicles will be departing Port Klang this month. In the next 12 months, Perodua is expecting to send over 350 units of the Myvi per month. The Myvi will also be heading to Mauritius, Singapore, Nepal, Fiji, and Sri Lanka wearing its original name.
