New sponsors announce support for Super GT
Building up to the upcoming 2011 Autobacs Super GT Round 3 in Sepang, event organizers JP Performance Motorsport (JPM) has organized a mini bazaar at Subang Jaya’s new Empire Shopping Gallery last Saturday. A number of activities were held on the day, with JPM revealing the event’s line-up of sponsors and partners that now includes Touch `n Go, RTM, Tumasek Pewter and Selangor Tourism.
Touch ‘n Go’s involvement in proceedings will be as Official Electronic Payment System provider. Super GT tickets will come with a free Super GT Special Edition Touch ‘n go card. Normally priced at RM100, early birds (up till 31 May, that’s today!) can get the ticket at RM88, which grants access to Grandstand and K Stand seats.
The Super GT Motorshow ticket, priced at RM30, is available in the Super GT Special Edition Touch ‘n Go card itself, granting access to hillstand B. The Touch ‘n Go cards will also be used for all food, beverage and merchandise purchases during the Super GT weekend. Ticketholders are advised to reload their Touch ‘n Go cards beforehand, although ample reload stations will be setup at the event venue. This setup previews Touch n’ Go’s plans to have its cards usable in merchant outlets.
“These limited edition collectible cards can also be used at all Touch ‘n Go usage points after the event. On top of that, not only can they reload the cards at the seven conveniently located reload booths to be set up throughout the event; they also can reload their cards at close to 6,500 Touch ‘n Go reload points across Malaysia,” said Puan Hasni Zarina Mohamed Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd.
A deal was also sealed with RTM to give the public free broadcasts of the Super GT season. Highlights of all nine rounds of the series will be aired on RTM1 and RTM2, and RTM will serve as host broadcaster for the live telecast of the Sepang race in Japan through FujiTV.
Other activities held at the bazaar included the congregation of 25 Renault Megane RS250 cars, which are set to compete in the JPM Megane Cup, one of three support races planned during the race weekend. In addition, there was also a meet and greet session with Japanese GT Queen, Ayami Sasaki. Also held on that day was the semi-finals of the 2011 Super GT Malaysia Queen Pageant Search.
“As you know, the SUPER GT is famous for its GT Queens and for the first time, we are holding a SUPER GT Pageant to find our first Malaysian GT Queen who will not only win RM2,000 cash, she will also be sent to Japan for professional race queen training,” said TJ Chin, Managing Director of JPM.
