Radio DJs endorse Proton Persona
Having just handed a unit of the Inspira to national badminton hero Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Proton today announced a trio of local radio personalities as brand ambassadors for the Persona in the launching of its ‘Persona – Better, Undoubtedly’ campaign. The five-month campaign has the aim of reaching out to help individuals build self-confidence in various endeavours.
The programme will introduces two new Persona Ambassadors, DJ Lin from Suria FM and Aanantha from THR Raaga, who will join the current Persona Ambassador Jack Lim from MY FM. During the campaign’s course, the three ambassadors will take on roles as mentors, sharing their life lessons to guide people from various backgrounds to face their own challenges. Each ambassador will have his or her own programme developed based on their respective experiences.
Speaking at the campaign launch, General Manager, Marketing Division of Proton Edar Encik Sidik Abd Hamid said, “As radio DJs, all three are influential personalities that reach out to millions of listeners on a daily basis – what they say, and what they do influences perceptions and attitudes. Just like the Persona impacts millions in their daily drive on the road, our ambassadors are influential personalities that have an opportunity to make a difference with the community.”
Jack Lim, who has been ambassador of the Persona for one and a half years, is a well-known figure amongst listeners of Chinese-language radio in Malaysia, being one of three DJs helming MY FM’s morning slot. For the ‘Better, Undoubtedly’ Campaign, Jack will attempt a personal challenge and at the same time mentor three selected candidates to face challenges that they have always wished to pursue but held back by a lack of courage or motivation.
DJ Lin is a single mother of two who was able to balance her maternal responsibilities with a successful career. During the campaign, Lin will be visiting the single mothers’ homes and sharing her experiences with the hopes of inspiring them in their lives. Like Jack, she will be personally mentoring three single mothers and will host a one-day empowerment workshop open to all single mothers teaching them the various necessary life skills.
However, DJ Lin’s biggest challenge in this campaign will actually be herself, as she does not possess a driving license. Her participation in this campaign has motivated her into finally taking her driving test (she wouldn’t be able to drive her spanking new Persona otherwise). She is currently in possession of a learner’s license.
Meanwhile, Aanantha seeks to deliver the message that learning and success in life can also come beyond reading text books, how soft skills can contribute to confidence levels. Being passionate about music, Aanantha will be hosting a one-day confidence talent workshop to engage selected children who are keen to pursue performing arts and music. Three children from the workshop will be personally selected by Aanantha to mentor and perform in his music video.
