Special Service Campaign for Lexus IS 250
Lexus Malaysia has today released a press statement announcing a Special Service Campaign (SSC) recalling 78 units of the Lexus IS 250 sedan manufactured from August 2007 to February 2009.
No other Lexus or Toyota models officially sold by UMW Toyota Motor in Malaysia are involved in the recall. In any case, Lexus Malaysia is moving to contact affected owners already.
Vehicles involved in the campaign will undergo inspection of their fuel pressure sensors, which were found to be insufficiently tightened in some models. Over time, the sensor might loosen and lead to leaking of fuel via a gasket between the sensor and delivery pipe.
Vehicles with no fuel leakages detected will have their sensors appropriately tightened and returned to their owners. Should a leak be detected, the leaking gasket will be replaced and the fuel sensor be appropriately tightened.
As soon as relevant parts are available, Lexus Malaysia will notify its customers and make appointments to carry out the necessary corrective measures.
Customers may also contact Lexus Malaysia’s free phone line 1-800-88-LEXUS (53987) for further information or assistance.
