Mitsubishi introduces Triton Bold Edition

by -

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has released a limited run edition of the Triton 2.5 A/T, dubbed the Mitsubishi Triton Bold Edition, available from 12 January 2011 onwards. Only 300 units of this variant will be available, and it is priced at RM100,117.80 on the road excluding insurance.

No changes are made under the skin, so this is essentially a kitted up version of the Triton 2.5 A/T powered by Mitsubishi’s 134hp / 314Nm 2.5-litre 4D56 turbodiesel engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and Mitsubishi’s Easy Select 4WD system.

Kit count starts with equipment originally available on the Triton 2.5, which includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, hybrid LSD, fog lamps, multi-mode centre information display and leather-wrapped steering wheel. On top of that are features that trickled down from the top-of-the-range Triton 3.2, namely automatic climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, anti-slip side steps and a sporty front bumper guard.

Another notable item in the equipment list is a 2-DIN touch screen entertainment system integrated with a built-in GPS and reverse camera. Visually, the Triton Bold Edition can be distinguished from the rest of its brethren by a sports bar and chrome rear step bumper. Available colours are just black and white.

Further deal-sweeteners come in the form of a 2-year free maintenance package, and 3-year warranty from MMM. In addition, customers who book and register a Triton Bold Edition before 31 January 2011 will be rewarded with a festive angpow.
