Chevrolet Cruze accumulates 270,000 sales worldwide
Pavilion Crest Sdn Bhd, the Naza subsidiary company responsible for distributing Chevrolet cars in Malaysia, just released a press statement announcing the global sales performance of the Chevrolet Cruze ahead of the car’s impending introduction in the United States in September 2010.
Since its launch in Europe last year, some 270,000 units have been moved out of showroom floors – 140,000 of them sold in the first half of 2010. During the period it has been on sale worldwide, sales have have been steadily rising by an average of 18% per month.
The Cruze is currently available in over 60 countries, with China, Russia, Mexico, India and Spain being its biggest markets. If sales of Holden and Daewoo badged versions are added, global sales of the Cruze would actually have touched 340,000 units.
In Malaysia, some 150 units of the Cruze have been sold thus far since the car’s launch on 10 June 2010. At this rate, they might just make the company’s target of selling 1,000 units of the Cruze this year.
