Perodua rolls out Car No. 1.7 million
Earlier this week, Perodua marked another milestone in the company’s history, rolling out the 1.7 millionth vehicle – a Perodua Alza – produced by its factory in Rawang, achieving the feat in a span of 17 years.
“A total of 1.7 million vehicles were produced in the span of 17 years and this is a very proud moment for us, our vendors, dealers and business partners,” En Aminar Rashid Salleh, Perodua Managing Director said.
Perodua’s plant currently operates on a 2-shift cycle with a maximum production capacity of 250,000 units per year, though it was revealed in an earlier press conference that utilized capacity currently stands only at 190,000 units per year.
To further mark the occasion, Perodua also donated cheques worth RM5,000 each to five schools in the vicinity of the company’s headquarters – SMK Taman Bunga Raya (1), SJK (T) Ladang Sungai Choh, SJK (C) Serendah, SMK Sungai Choh, and SK Serendah.
