Free tinting and petrol for Peugeot 407 buyers
Nasim Sdn Bhd yesterday announced a new promotion to further entice buyers to the Peugeot 407 sedan with a V-Kool voucher and Esso Smiles Card thrown in to sweeten the deal. The promotion is applicable both variants of the 407 – Standard & Premium – bought from 1 April to 30 June 2010.
Under the promotion, buyers of the 407 will be given a V-Kool voucher which can be redeemed at any of V-Kool’s authorised outlets in the country. Meanwhile, the Esso Smiles Card for buyers in Peninsular Malaysia will be pre-loaded with RM1,000 worth of credit which can be used to redeem fuel or other items at Esso’s service stations. East Malaysia buyers will get petrol vouchers instead.

The offer is not that attractive enough considering Ringgit has appreciated more than 12% against the Euro since the beginning this year and the selling price of the car has not changed since last year. The distributor will walk away with an additional profit of about RM10,000 if a car is sold today. I just wonder when can Malaysian consumers get the real value for their money.
If they give discounts the resale value will drop. I hope they make even more profits so that they can develop the brand further in Malaysia. How sure are you about the RM10k anyway? Hahahaha!
Your comment is valid Scud. Any car distributor would like to protect their pricing and so do the existing owners. However, like buying a stock, timing is also important. I could have bought the car end of last year (and get all those freebies – Lion Package, low HP rate etc). However, I decided to put on hold the purchase despite the salesman was telling me that the selling price of the new batch is going to increase. So now the Ringgit has appreciated, naturally I would expect better ‘reward’ for taking the bet … giving the vouchers with a specific vendor is not the best way as it restricts my option. And don’t tell me that the vendors of the vouchers do not put profit margin to the their product pricing. Being greedy will not take you far … sharing the benefits will build the trust of your customers … the distributor can decide. Good luck!
