Isuzu has just released yet another version of their highly popular D-Max pickup truck. The latest variant, dubbed the D-Max Pro, is essentially the 2.5-litre manual D-Max specified with features to bring it closer to the 3.0-litre variants.

Externally the D-Max Pro is differentiated from its brethren by front fogs with chrome surround, chrome hood ornament (that strip on top of the grille), and oval tube aluminium side steps. A new colour option, Dune Grey, is also available.

Over its cargo bed, users have the option of specifying a roll bar or what Isuzu calls the Pro-Lid tail cover, an in-house designed lockable lid with of tough ABS material. The lid is removable when the need to carry bulkier loads arise.

Inside, the D-Max Pro features a 2-DIN in car entertainment unit in its dashboard. The unit features an integrated GPS system, and is able to play DVD, MP3, MP4, and WMA files. Pictures provided from Isuzu show a markedly different unit to the one used in the 3.0-litre D-Max Plus.

No changes are made mechanically. The D-Max Pro receives propulsion from the 2.5-litre 4JA1-L direct injection turbodiesel engine. Unlike the 3.0-litre variants, the 2.5-litre D-Max is rear wheel drive, with 5-speed manual being the only transmission option.

The D-Max Pro is on sale immediately, but production is limited to just 150 units.
