Civic gets Taffeta White as well
Like with the Accord and CR-V recently, Honda Malaysia has added Taffeta White into the range of colours offered with the Honda Civic. Recently facelifted in 2009, there are currently, according to HM, 30,000 8th gen Civics running around in Malaysia.
With white being the latest “in” colour, HM expects the new Taffeta White colour to account for 30% of the projected 600 Civics sold per month. By the end of the year, the Civic is expected to have accounted for 20% HM’s sales. Thus far, they have already put a total of 30,000 Hondas on Malaysian roads for 2009.
Mr. Toru Takahashi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HM remarked about the new colour variant, “After conducting research and analyzing customer feedback, coupled with the positive response from the introduction of the colour for Honda Accord and Honda CR-V, we decided to incorporate the Taffeta White in the Honda Civic 1.8L and 2.0L as well. At Honda, we constantly seek to understand and meet the expectations of our customers wherever we operate in our aim to achieve Customer Satisfaction No.1″.
From our observations, the colour has been hugely popular with the Accord, though we haven’t seen too many CR-Vs painted in it. However, the Civic’s rivals in the C-segment, such as the Toyota Altis, Mitsubishi Lancer, and Mazda3 have already been offering white as options.
“On a separate note, I am also pleased to announce that the other two siblings of the 8th Generation Civic, the Civic Hybrid and Civic Type-R has recently surpassed the sales of 200 units each in Malaysia,” added Mr. Takahashi.
The new Taffeta White variant joins the color line-up already available for the Civic, which includes the Crystal Black Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Sparkle Gray Pearl and Bold Beige Metallic.
