The Lion lands in Kuching
Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official franchise holder of Peugeot Automobiles in the country has now expanded its footprint to encompass East Malaysia with the opening of a new 3S (sales, service & spare parts) in Kuching today.
The launching of the Kuching branch, Nasim’s first in East Malaysia, coincided with the official East Malaysian launch of Peugeot 308 – the 308 VTi and the 308 Turbo.
“Having invested RM 10 million into building the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, we are proud to see the network expand its reach to serve our East Malaysia customers better. NSB has grown to have seven Peugeot authorised dealers, ten branches nationwide, including Kuching and four 3S centres. The launching of the Peugeot 308 models here today marks the increasing need for a 3S branch with equipment suited to these vehicles,” said Encik SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin, Joint Group Executive Chairman of the Naza Group of Companies.
Equipped with four service bays, the service centre has the capacity of servicing 12 cars on a daily basis. Initial sales target for the showroom is set at a modest number of 15 cars per month for the first six months.
As a demonstration of intent, Nasim has nevertheless equipped the branch with the exclusive Peugeot Planet System (PPS) diagnostic equipment. The showroom, measuring at 10,500 square feet in land area, is manned by 21 fully trained personnel.
SM Nasarudin also said, “Each customer comes to us with a unique need and at the 3S centre we aspire to fulfil this need with the staff we have and specially equipped 3S centres. At NSB, we believe that purchasing is not just about the car, but also about service. Customers play an important role in creating a successful relationship and we are appreciative of the participation of each Peugeot customer, especially in East Malaysia.”
Nasim’s growth continues apace with this showroom launch following on the recent announcement of the Peugeot 207 Sedan CKD programme. It currently exports CKD vehicles to Thailand and expects to launch the Peugeot 5008 some time next year.
