Upcoming new Hyundai: 2010 YF Sonata and 2010 LM Tucson

For those Hyundai fans in Malaysia, there’s something to be excited about as Hyundai Motor Company has some new exciting models lined up for launch.

The new Hyundai Sonata, code named YF will probably be launched in 2009 as a 2010 model. Departing from the current NF Sonata which bears too much of a design similarities with the seventh generation Honda Accord (Asia version), it now features flowing body lines; drawing cues from the highly successful Hyundai Genesis.

Expect it to be powered by 2.0litre, 2.4litre and 3.3litre petrol engines while we may see the introduction of Hybrid versions for the North American market.

Meanwhile, the LM Tucson will be set to replace the aging JM Tucson in 2010 bearing close similarities with the ix-onic pronounced “ik-sonnik”) concept car that debut at the 79th Salon International de L’Automobile in Geneva early this year. It would be really interesting if it is powered by the ix-onic’s 1.6litre GDI turbocharged petrol engine producing 170PS. More impressive is that, the engine is also equipped with ISG (Idle Stop & Go) technology and a twin clutch six-speed transmission!

Good things are indeed coming out of Korea.
