Goodyear Puts Drift Car on Stage in Impak Maksima The Musical
KUALA LUMPUR, 17 November 2008 —Goodyear Malaysia has taken its commitment in supporting motorsports to another level through its sponsorship of Malaysia’s first musical that will see a real live car performing drift stunts on stage.
The collaboration between Goodyear and Excellent Pictures started with the sponsorship of the Impak Maksima television series. The series was aired on TV3 earlier this year. Both Goodyear and the producers of Impak Maksima The Musical are convinced that the musical will definitely showcase the sport of drifting in a new light.
The musical will feature the Goodyear Drift team performing drift stunts on stage, the first time in the history of a stage production. The team led by Ser Ming Hui will be drifting in cars that are fitted with Goodyear ultra high performance tires.
“Goodyear is fully committed in supporting motorsport activities in Malaysia. While this event may not necessarily be classified as a motorsport activity pre se, given the popularity of drifting as well as the TV series, Impak Maksima The Musical seems like a natural progression and Goodyear is proud to be part of it,” said Law Kwan Thean, Marketing Director of Goodyear Malaysia.
“The production of this musical could not have happened without the support of our sponsor, Goodyear – a global brand not only known for top quality, high performance tires but also motorsport, particularly drifting. We would like to thank Goodyear for their continuous support and helping us make this happen,” said Ahmad Idham, Director of Impak Maksima The Musical.
