BMW offers New Car Guarantee in Case of Theft or Loss

    Kuala Lumpur, 30th June 2008 – BMW Credit (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has launched BMW Motor Insurance, a new comprehensive insurance package for BMW customers offering enhanced policy features, hassle-free processes and exclusive benefits.

    Among the features of BMW Motor Insurance is a guarantee that a new BMW purchaser would be entitled to a brand new car during the first 12 months of ownership in the event of total loss from accident or theft.

    The package also guarantees use of only authorised BMW dealerships, service centres and genuine BMW parts. Initial applications and claiming procedures have also been simplified to ensure simple and hassle-free customer experience.

    Joe Hall, BMW Credit and BMW Lease Managing Director, said, “The new comprehensive BMW Motor Insurance is all about peace-of-mind motoring. It is the only insurance supported by BMW, so customers are assured that when untoward incidents occur, their car will be handled by experienced professionals.”

    A BMW that has been properly repaired with genuine BMW parts will have a better resale value in the future. BMW Motor Insurance helps BMW customers protect their investment in their car.

    The other benefits of BMW Motor Insurance include the absence of premium loading and market value adjustment for subsequent renewals. Purchasers of used BMW cars through authorised BMW dealers who experience a total loss from accident and theft during the first 12 months of ownership are also entitled to an receive an insured value claim settlement without any market value adjustment.

    Claim procedures have been simplified so that in the event of an accident, the car will be taken to the nearest authorised BMW dealership upon a call to a designated customer support hotline. The focus is on providing the best possible service to our customers to ensure that there vehicle is repaired quickly and to BMW standards.
    Meanwhile, Geoff Briscoe, BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director, said the launch of BMW Motor Insurance is a testament to BMW’s commitment to offering the best possible customer experience allowing for a true one-stop ownership

A BMW customer now has a total one-stop experience at the dealership beginning with the most innovative finance packages and also insurance. In combination with BMW Service Inclusive and Repair (BSI+R), a BMW customer in Malaysia who purchases his vehicle from an authorised dealership has complete protection and peace of mind. BMW is the only brand in the segment to offer anything like it”, said Briscoe.

    BMW Credit and BMW Lease began operations in Malaysia in April 2007. The companies were launched to enable the BMW Group to support its Malaysian customers and dealers with more innovative financial products and services.

    “We will continue to develop new innovative financial solutions for Malaysian BMW customers by drawing on the knowledge and experience of other BMW markets,” Mr. Hall said, adding that BMW Credit and BMW Lease’s entry into Malaysia was mainly to enable the group to offer better customer support and increase customer loyalty.

    The two companies hold four offices located in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor Baru and Penang, and have a staff force of 120 people. In a little more than a year of operations in Malaysia, BMW Credit and BMW Lease have 3,600 active BMW customers.

    The entry of BMW Credit and BMW Lease is part of the BMW Group’s commitment to continued investment in Malaysia over the last few years, which has grown to encompass its Regional Parts Distribution Centre in the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, the Regional BMW Group Academy and Group Data Centre in Cyberjaya.

    In 2007, the BMW Group announced plans to use BMW Credit and BMW Lease as backend support to other new markets. “This further allows us to invest in more sophisticated process solutions and bring even more benefits to the Malaysian market,” Mr Hall said.
    The new BMW Motor Insurance will be rolled out at all authorized BMW dealerships on Tuesday, 1st July 2008.
