Proton holds special lucky draw to get cars to faster to lucky customers
The new Proton Saga has been such a success that the waiting list is stretching beyond eight months and this is going to be a big problem for the national car company.While a fat order book is good for profits, it may also drive customers away if they have to wait for long.
“The response has been very encouraging. Even within the first month of the SAGA launch, we have already received 30,000 bookings”, said PROTON Holdings Bhd Managing Director, Dato’ Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.
Until a second shift is implemented, the Shah Alam plant can crank out a maximum of 6,000 cars a month so Proton needed to do something to keep customers happy and one of the solution they have come up with is a monthly lucky draw.
“We hope our customers will be patient in waiting to drive their new cars home. We would like to thank our customers for their continuous trust in PROTON and their support of our products. The weekly draw is one of our initiatives to speed up the delivery process,”he adds.

Each month 40 customer names will be drawn out of a box in the presence of an internal auditor and these customers will get their cars delivered within two weeks.
Before the car can be allocated to them, winners must however meet all the buying criteria, namely the settlement of the full down payment and receipt of the Letter of Undertaking (LOU) from the financier. Those eligible for the draw are customers who have placed a booking on the SAGA model via Proton Edar and EON branches and dealers, and are currently awaiting collection of their SAGA.
