Ford Motor Company Appoints Tim Tucker Managing director, Ford Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – June 12, 2007 – Ford Motor Company has announced the appointment of Tim Tucker as managing director of Ford Malaysia, effective 1 July 2007. Tucker is currently managing director of Ford Vietnam Limited, based in Hanoi, where he has served since May 2004.
During his tenure in Vietnam, Tucker helped drive the successful growth of Ford in the ASEAN region’s fastest-growing automotive market through a number of several new product introductions, the expansion and development of Ford’s dealership network and customer service offerings, and Ford’s active role in the community, including its ongoing promotion of road safety. Prior to his appointment in Vietnam, Tucker served as Director of International Operations, Marketing, Sales and Service for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands of Ford’s Premier Automotive Group, based in England.
“Tim’s experience in the ASEAN region and overall knowledge of international markets will be instrumental to helping further strengthen our competitive position in Malaysia as the automotive market continues to evolve,” said Dave Alden, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Asia Pacific and Africa.
Tucker has been with Ford for more than 20 years, having served in a variety of Marketing, Sales leadership positions in North America, Europe and the Middle East during that time. He earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Tucker is also a Major in the United States Army’s Retired Reserve.
