Ford Lanun Darat To Organize Off-Road Driving Clinic

by -

Ford Ranger and Everest owners can have a fun day learning and sharing the finer points of off-road driving with the Ford Lanun Darat 4 x 4 Adventure team on June 2nd 2007.

The occasion will be Ford Lanun Darat Adventure Team’s first Off-Road Driving Clinic. The driving clinic is open to all Ford Courier, Ranger and Everest owners, and is a one-day course in which participants can experience off-road conditions and learn how to overcome obstacles.

As an added treat, visitors will be able to catch a glimpse of the Petronas Adventure Team Ford Everest that will be going on the South Asia Overland trip to Karachi in a couple of weeks time. Key members of the Petronas Adventure Team will be on hand to show off the PAT Everest, and if we are lucky, some of us may get rides in it as well.

The driving clinic will be held at the Sepang Off-Road Park, situated beside the Sepang International Circuit. The course covers 1.5 kilometres of dirt track, and has numerous ‘obstacles’ built into it. The obstacles that participants will encounter and learn how to overcome are driving along the side of a steep slope, a water crossing, a mud hole, and several slope ascents and descents.

The course begins at 9.00 am, and will continue up to 6.00 pm. The course takes approximately two hours, but participants may stay on and have fun at the off-road track, as the course will run continuously as other participants come in.
Participating fee is RM75 per vehicle, which entitles the participant to a goodie bag, lunch, and drinks. Interested parties can call the ford Hotline 1-800-88-3181 or 012-2103879 for details.
