Sachs Continues to Upgrade Malaysian Workshops
Sachs – one of the world’s largest Original Equipment Manufacturers for powertrain and suspension systems to major vehicle manufacturers – is moving ahead with the upgrading of workshops in Malaysia under the Sachs ‘Black Belt’ Program to the ‘Green Belt’ after an exciting year of coaching under the Sachs ‘Yellow Belt’.
The Sachs Black Belt Program is modelled after the karate program that has belt classifications from the white belt status (beginner) to the black belt status (expert). Workshops will progress from yellow belt, to green, brown and finally the coveted black belt status as they continue to partner with Sachs.
In this program, successfully introduced in some European countries, the company details many different ways workshops can improve themselves: i.e. ways to improve their shop appearance, how to use sales promotions effectively, etc.
The program allows workshops to cope with increasing competition and difficulties in keeping up with changing technology by forming a strategic alliances with Sachs to benefit its knowledge and marketing expertise. Through this alliance, the workshops will be able to gain decisive advantages over competition in their market identity, efficiency, turnover and profitability. For consumers, this will be a gain as they will see more professionalism in services rendered.
In the latest ‘Green Belt’, workshops will be given additional help and aids to run sales promotion and training. Putting words to action, Sachs will be launching a new “Sachs Mechanics Training Grant” for workshops. Privileged workshops under the Sachs ‘Black Belt’ Program can nominate mechanics for the grant.
This is a grant that will be given to two top mechanics through National Vocational Training Council approved automotive related trainings of up to RM1,000 each. All participating workshops are invited to submit applications and the closing date for applications is January 1 2003.
