Lucky Mr Ng Gets Free Alfa 147
It’s not often that you take a loan for a new car and then end up with a second car – for free! Even less likely that it’s something as desirable as an Alfa Romeo 147! But this year is obviously Ng Kin Seng’s lucky year because he won the Grand Prize in this year’s Hong Leong Finance Car Loan contest.
All Mr Ng had to do was sign “HONG LEONG CAR LOAN” in the most creative manner possible and his effort was obviously judged the best, winning him the European Car of the Year 2000/2001.
There were also lots of other prizes in the contest which saw many participants this year. The first prize of a trip to Hongkong (for two persons) went to Shee Boon Huat, while Abdul Halim Md Hashim took home the second prize of a 29-inch Flat Screen Colour TV. Nokia 3330 cellphones with Digi Pre-Paid packs were also given to ten third prix winners and there were another ten consolation prizes of a DVD player each.
During the contest duration, there were also weekly prizes of a 4-day ‘Lost Idol Trail Experience’ in Kuching, Sarawak. These prizes included return airfares, accommodation and tours.
Speaking at the prize-presentation ceremony recently, Hong Leong Finance Bhd COO Lee Kam Chuen said that the contest was the company’s way of expressing its gratitude to loyal and valued customers.
“Hong Leong Finance is determined and committed to maintaining our standard of excellence and thereby also ensuring customer satisfaction. These are the reasons that spurred us to organize a campaign that captured the spirit of growth and ingenuity that is inherent within all our customers,” Mr Lee said.
The contest was open to all successful applicants of car loans at Hong Leong Finance as well as Hong Leong Bank and co-sponsors for the event were Milan Auto, Kurnia Insurans Bhd and Digi.
