Ford Malaysia Starts Club for Escape Owners
Ford Malaysia has started a Ford Escape Owners Club, with the inaugural event having been run this weekend in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan.
This is the second club which has been created by the company, the first having been the Lanun Darat club for Ford Ranger owners.
According to T.H. Chong, Ford Malaysia’s Marketing Manager, the Ford Escape Owners Club is aimed at providing Escape owners with a more enjoyable ownership experience as well as enable the company to interact more with its customers owning the small SUV.
“Our relationship with Ford buyers does not end when our dealer delivers the new vehicle; on the contrary, it is really the start of our relationship which we hope to strengthen over time,” he explained.
Membership of the Ford Escape Club is free for all Escape owners and as members, they will receive benefits such as discounts at popular retail and entertainment establishments and invitations to exclusive events.
“We believe that Escape owners are active people and through this club, we hope to give them opportunities to enjoy their vehicle in the same way that our Lanun Darat club provides Ranger owners with activities that their vehicle is well suited for,” Mr Chong added.
The first event this weekend saw 38 owners enthusiastically responding to Ford Malaysia’s invitation which was also in conjunction with the first anniversary of the Escape in Malaysia.
“We have been planning for this anniversary event for a while and also wanted to launch the club at the same time. The response was much better than we expected and we are really happy to see owners driving from as far as Kedah coming all the way to Petaling Jaya for the start,” Mr Chong said.
The participants, totalling around 120, stayed overnight at a resort in Port Dickson and had fun in a telematch as well as competed for attractive prizes in a treasure hunt in the vicinity of the seaside town. The event was fully sponsored by Ford Malaysia.
