someone said that All Japanese car set a Speed limiter at 180KM/H
and makes a high Performance car such as Skyline GT-R34, Supra, NSX run at
180km/h as top speed...

hit 220km/h...
my friend in Taiwan drive a Subaru Impreza GDBF and he got a Speeding
ticket at 230km/h...
that's a little impossible if a twin turbo 3L engined car such as GTO, NSX,
Supra got a 180 km/h speed limiter..

"japanese DOMESTIC market". it is by japanese LAW their DOMESTIC vehicles are ALL fix at up to
180kmh.
if it not JDM spec, the said vehicle could be >180kmh. european specs japanese cars could
feature up to 300km/h on speedo (may not reach 300kmh but IS capable to go speeds above
180kmh).
JDM cars to get around 180kmh, is EASILY done by "fooling" the cars ECU by aftermarket devices
OR completely changing the Cars ECU. Changing the speedometer guage ALONG will not help the
car to haul past 180kmh.
so there you know.

1) Apexi RSM, value for money, lots of features (RM680 + RM50 installation)
suits auto/tiptronic and manual tranny
2) Pivot Speed Cut remover, cheapest, not for auto tranny or tiptronic
(RM280+ RM50 installation)
3) HKS SLD (speed limit defencer). suits auto/tiptronic and manual. most
expensive (RM750+RM50 installation)
other brands I don't know/no need to know hehe

ugh... how often are you even going to reach 180kph? You'd need at least
200hp on a turbo to reach 180kph with any reasonable stretch of road
before having to jam the brakes to turn a corner, stop at a traffic light
or avoid accident with car in front.

my old Impreza and both worked great. Needles on JDM spec only go to
~180kph but both secondary meters are basically unlimited since they are
digital.
abuga: 200hp these days is quite common.

My question is you pay so much just to reach 180KPH or above. Is it
worth it? I suppose if you do a lot of out-station traveling, not a prob.
eddielau, I concede.
