VW seems like have no intention to solve DSG7 issue? DSG& has been using for quite some time and VW should receive many complaints.

Collected my golf last week after 4 days at the SC, turn out not just the clutch pack being replaced but the mecha unit too! ..after replacing the clutch pack, they were supposed to test drive the car but after shifting to D, the gear does not engaged and car not moving at all. End up they have to replace the mecha unit too. Luckily, they have stock.....phew.

Now scared already if the prob return & if my touran would have the same prob too later........hmm, looks likely going back to the run of the mills japs (M6/m3 & CRV combo shud good..compared to current golf/C.Touran combo..shud be more bullet proof too)...less headache but gonna miss the handling & drive quality.

Just wondering, do you drive the car hard?

Hi, i dont drive very fast usually btw 110-140kph and dont accelerate agressively....usually kept the rev btw 2,000-3,000rpm (its already pushing 140kph at 3,000rpm)....almost never use the manual for both CT & Golf. My guess, the dsg7 is not suitable for our climate.

My cousins VW passat just died. He bought a Viva for temp use. VW Ampang is still diagnosing the issue. His car could engage 3rd gear right before dying

I purchased the 1.4tsi mk6 in nov 2011. Somewhere mid 2012, i experienced 2nd gear acceleration judder. There was also one time the gearbox disengaged itself into neutral while driving at slow speed.

They replaced the clutch pack and gearbox software and the gearbox has been fine until my last service in dec 2013 at 43k km. After collecting my car, it judders when accelerating in 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th. 1st-3rd acceleration seems fine.

Looks like i hv to figure out a way to send the car in for a couple of days and arrange for kids and wife's transport during the week... smile_disapprove.gif

Due to the nature of my work, I have driven more than 100 VW Golf Tsi to date, and more than 240 Pug 308 T and VTi, and have spoken to their owners at length about their frustrations and enjoyment with their cars.

CONCLUSION:
If you and/or your spouse are desk-bound employees who have to leave home daily before sunrise and can only reach home after sunset from Monday to Fridays, and you dont have a spare car available anytime, PLEASE....think twice before you buy that "seemingly cheap" Peugeot, Citroen or VW in Malaysia. Many of my VW customers also agreed.

There was such an owner who was cursing with rage when the power steering warning lit up on his immaculate Golf GTi Mk5.
Cant buy the motor or sensors or control module separately. Need to spend more than 7K to buy the entire rack!!!! or car cannot be driven. ......and he said..."no money". Thats the problem when you're not "ready" to own and maintain any Conti car.

Buying the car by installment is the easiest part, cos the mftr has its own sneaky ways to make the price very tempting.
But to maintain that car...will frustrate many people.

These cars are simply too problematic, and if its already bad enough during warranty period, imagine the nightmare you'll have AFTER the warranty expires.
