Holden is really a mix of Chevrolet and other GM products but they pretend it is their own australian research and development. They promote Ford as if it also all australian development so many australian reviews like to brainwashed the people.

It's part of the culture in Australia. You'll notice Australian products in the supermarkets are labelled as '100% Australian' or something like that. They like to big themselves up in the same way that Malaysia has the 'Malaysia Boleh' thing.
I do wonder if car reviews are as corrupt as other kinds of magazines. I know that some computer games magazines are owned by the games companies and are they just to big up their own games and bash the competition. Newspapers like will give you a very nice review if you buy their advertising space. I suppose car magazines are the same?

Not to be a stunner but the Amarok is manufactured in Argentina. Unless DRB plans to stockpile the spare parts, waiting for parts from Argentina is gonna be a pain in the arse. This is in contrast with major pick-up manufacturers who have their production plants in Rayond, Thailand. Just across the border only.

That leaves the Amarok, if it is launched or the new D-Max.

I've only test driven the Ford Ranger, Triton and Navara.
All of them were just once around the block so I can only give you a brief impression:
Ranger 2.2: Solid, very modern inside, heavy steering, turbo lag
Triton VGT: Powerful but very bouncy. No accuracy in the steering.
Navara: Very powerful. The interior is horribly functional. The security key thing would get annoying very quickly.
Of the 3, the Ranger is head and shoulders above the rest. It's a generation ahead of the others.
I'm waiting for a test drive of the BT-50 but they only have a manual available at the moment and I want to buy an auto so I don't see the point in test driving the manual.
