My cousin's 2 days old Sharan has to check-in to workshop, after experiencing thick white smoke emitting from front engine cover. The mechanic confirmed a/c host leak. Ask to leave the car for a few days to check and change parts. Lol smile_sleepy.gif

Is sad VW quality going down. Like my wife said. If you except 1% failure in manufacturing terms

100,000 unit ==> 100 unit

1,000,000,000 ==> 1000 unit

So the no of unit will increase over time since there is more around than I was driving VW from 1999 till 2006 where hardly can see around those days.

Indeed. I see it as more of a QC issue. I wonder why during their Pre-Delivery Check they never discover this. How could they install a part that only lasted 2 days of light use?!

After all it is just a small issue. I hope they learn and improve from this incident.

My cousin is cool as he love this MPV! and it comes with 5 years warranty. Peace of mind.

Standard reply from Service Advisor was that got to wait 1-2 months for parts to be sent from German!! My cousin was asked to take back his Sharan back for the meantime, and use it till the parts arrive in months time. Imagine asking someone to drive a car under hot sun without A/C!!

Then he wrote to VWM and they flew the parts in from Singapore and German. Now he just got his MPV!! Slightly over 1 week of waiting. smile_tongue.gif

He got back his Sharan this Tuesday and he told me he enjoy every moment of driving it. So far he has no more complain.

I guess if VWM were to conduct a survey on how he feel about the car, he would give 11 out of 10 !!

Yes, no doubt Sharan is a good MPV, but not the price.

If VW can bring in the lower spec Sharan at ~210k then I think it would be more prefect !!!

TCM recently launched their Elgrand at rm400K.
A recond 4-5years lowest spec Estima is easily rm150K.

Now do you think VW Sharan, full-spec with leather seats, is overpriced at rm260K?!

But for me, every car in MY is overpriced, including Perodua and Potong cars!! As simple as that.
