i've been using petronas 95 for most of the time i refill. So last tank was shell95. Somehow I feel its smoother and seems better power than petronas95.

any member feel the same ?

my first tank was shell, after that i switch to petronas, shell seems to be more suitable for this sonata.

I feel Shell Ron95 is lack of power, I used to pump Caltex or BHP.

Was on outstation trip in Johor and took opportunity to test fuel consumption on highway on my Sonata. Pumped up full at Esso with Ron 95 before passing toll gate which less than 1 km away. Here's the reading on my computer trip screen

Model: Sonata YF 2.0 HS
Year: Oct 2010
Mileage: 30k+
Next schedule oil change: 33k
Engine oil type: Fully Synthetic- Shell (what else?)
Wheels: 18" Michelin PS3

Speed: 110km/hr constant (Auto cruise set)
Distant covered: 40km
Road types: All highway
Air cond & audio: all ON
Passenger: Driver only with mild luggage
Fuel consumption reading: 6.9-7L/100km

I'm really impressed with the reading and if you drive at this speed you can achieve optimum fuel consumption. It was hovering at 7L/100km for the longest time before dropping to 6.9 briefly. It was hard driving at 110km/hr on this baby as you feel car is moving very slow. So after about 40km distant covered I put up speed doing between 120-180km/hr depends on road condition. Reached KL and reading was 7.8L/100km. with slightly more than half tank left.

My usual KL rush hour reading is about 11-12L/100km. Safely concluding the Theta 2 with six speed auto is really an economical highway cruiser. I think those with stock 17" wheels will have better result. Anyone here have similar sharing? Especially 2.4L variant.

Cheers

Nice reading there bro. Are your rims lighter than the stock ones? Read in some forums those stock sonata rims are 14kg a wheel. If you have changed your rims , i bet it is lighter than those stock ones which could actually improve your petrol consumption.
