i finished the first tank of petrol on my sonata, and manually, the computation is 9.14L/100KM. the computer also read about the same. combination of city & hwy driving.

just finished my 2nd tank, and reading was a little lousy - 10.77L/100KM manually computed. perhaps caught in traffic most of the time! smile_big.gif

KL3223 city driving
10.77L/100km = 9.3km/L

odin cruising at 110km/h
7.7L/100km = 13km/L
city driving if at 14.3L/100km = 7km/L

imirad
9L/100km = 11.1km/L

Seems good to me, quite similar to old Sonata NF. Getting 13km/L at 110km/h is considered very good. Camry 2.0E would have drained its tank if cruising at that speed. Not even C-segment Sylphy 2.0 can do better than that. If Odin gets 7km/L for city driving, need to check with him whether he is very heavy footed. Other owners please post more. I don't really have the chance to try out each and every car to get reading as most of my friends and colleagues already settled down with own ride for long term. I predict the YF city traffic FC if driven normal would get around 9-10km/L range, either similar or just the tiny bit better than the NF 2.0L.

in the 2.4, i'm getting 8.5L/100km on highway at 120km/h (11.7km/L)
city driving = 11.4L/100km (8.7km/L)

Hi guys,

updated:

mileage=7700km,
lately in these few days, i constantly manage to get 8.3L/100km or 12.05km/L smile_tongue.gif
(most of the time is city & urban area driving with occasional heavy traffic)

If heavy traffic plus jammed, the average fuel consumption is around 10.0L/100km to 10.5L/100km or 10km/L to 9.52km/L wink.gif

Not much different if eco driving ON or OFF blink.gif

Hi adrwoon and imirad,

Thanks for posting. What disappoints me is that so few owners step forward to post their reading. I wanted more city traffic reading. Just post, don't care whether it's good or bad for all types of driving behavior. In reality, the FC reading is supposed to be lower than manufacturer's claim due to road condition, our local fuel grade, etc.

I can finish the Camry's fuel in heavy city traffic with heavy foot getting just barely 6km/L even if it has intake only VVTi. If your Sonata YF's heavy foot driving in city traffic is getting better than this, your car is good.

Hi adrwoon,

Your Sonata is 2.4? It must be quiet like Santa Fe 2.4L. Does it come with white nappa leather?

hi jayraptor.. well, the engine noise is audible from the cabin but it's acceptable for me, even when comparing it to my old Cefiro's V6 (which was pretty quiet)... standard leather for the 2.4 is black nappa, which while feels very smooth and soft, unfortunately shows up dirt and skin flakes (smile_dead.gif) rather easily..

as for FC, i don't have a heavy foot and in the city i'm getting approx 7.8km/L (max 12.8L/100km)

Hi adrwoon,

Can't deny that V6 engine is always more quiet than inline-4 engine due to the arrangement of cylinders. FC and pulling power (torque) wise, inline4 is better for below 2.5L engine. I am facing dirt and debris issue in my Forte's black interior, just too visible when contra with black. I just ignore it. Getting 7.8km/L for 2.4L in city driving FC is better than current Camry 2.4V at 7km/L.

Hi odin,

Happy vacuuming! Better to keep your car clean as it's a D-segment.
